About Hospice Care
Increasingly, people are choosing hospice care at the end of life. Hospice care focuses on the care, comfort, and quality of life of a person with a serious illness who is approaching the end of life.
At some point, it may not be possible to cure a serious illness, or a patient may choose not to undergo certain treatments. Hospice is designed for this situation. The patient beginning hospice care understands that his or her illness is not responding to medical attempts to cure it or to slow the disease’s progress.

Yes. Residents can remain in our home while receiving hospice care. Goshen is not a hospice provider; we partner with the resident's licensed hospice agency, which directs the medical and end-of-life care.
Who provides the hospice services?
The resident's chosen licensed hospice agency provides the nursing, medical, and comfort-care services. Our caregivers provide the daily residential care and work alongside the hospice team and family.
What is Goshen's role in end-of-life care?
We provide a calm, familiar home with personal-care assistance, meals, supervision, and companionship, and we follow the care plan set with the hospice agency so your loved one is comfortable and supported.
Can families be involved?
Yes. We encourage family presence and involvement and coordinate closely with both the family and the hospice team throughout.
